Cardiff City FC Academy
After completing a successful refit of their training ground kitchen and servery back in 2019, when the club made the decision to invest in a brand-new academy facility we were delighted to be asked to be involved in their latest project.
By repositioning and repurposing the structure previously used for the Doctor Who exhibition in Cardiff Bay, they have created a striking structure full of state-of-the-art facilities. These facilities include astro-turf pitches, a gym, classrooms, changing rooms and a kitchen servery for both players and spectators.
It was a pleasure to see the building progress from a shell to the finished article.
The servery comprises of a Hatco soup well, ceran glass hotplate, drop in cold well and a hot cupboard, allowing them to serve a varied menu from breakfast through to dinner. Recessed shelving to the front of the servery provides useful storage for crockery, complete with lighting and a dedicated area for self-serve hot drinks allows visitors access even when the kitchen is closed.
A Rational combi oven and Falcon induction range is the core cooking equipment and a Maidaid dishwasher provides reliable warewashing.
As the photo of our engineers suggests, it’s another project we’re incredibly proud of.
