Queens College Taunton

The Brief

The catering team at Queens College had a vision to turn their shabby, underused pavilion into an inviting and modern space for the sixth form students to have their lunch. It would also be used as a small café for spectators during sporting events as the pavilion provides a great view over the sports fields.

The Result

A bright and vibrant servery including white Corian counters and brushed stainless steel effect counter fronts. Equipment includes a drop in multideck as well as 3 heated cerans and countertop soup well.

Mixing new round tables with breakfast bar seating optimises the space available and gives the café a more dynamic feel. The aubergine dividing wall was colour matched with the chairs which helped to tie the design together.

By installing a new portioning wall, it has created a separate back of house kitchen, hidden from the view of the students, which includes a Turbofan and a couple of countertop induction hobs.
